Delivering a meaningful communications strategy.

THE BRIEF

In January 2023, Rumpus began working with developer and asset manager, Altered Space. As a business that immerses itself in the communities it works within, we wanted to take a similar approach to our communications strategy.

The brief was to develop a bespoke onboarding process that allowed us to gain a holistic understanding of Altered Space. The outcome would be the creation of a comprehensive communications strategy that would resonate with its audience.

OUR OBJECTIVES

  • Get to know the vision, values and mission of the company
  • Understand an identify key industry issues that the spokespeople can comment on
  • Deliver an comprehensive, targeted comms strategy, aligning with the above outcomes

OUR SOLUTION

The onboarding sessions were dynamic and interactive, with contributions from both Mark and Michael, as well as a number of Rumpus team members who helped to drive the conversation and gain a deeper level of understanding.

This process drove home the pair’s passion of interacting on a personal level with the communities that live near, work in and visit their redevelopments. It allowed the team at Rumpus to understand how the work that Altered Space does is so much more than increasing the value of an asset. The pair care deeply about changing the lives of the community, supporting local businesses and finding ways to integrate the harder-to-reach demographics. It also highlighted Altered Space’s dynamic approach to developing functional spaces, thinking outside the box and creating thriving environments in places that before had lay dormant for many years.

By the end of the onboarding we provided Altered space with the following:

  • A vision, values and messaging document
  • An accurate and tiered media list
  • A clear set of measurable KPIs agreed on by both teams
  • Two larger than life campaign ideas
  • Planned, predicted communications with full synopses and working titles, based on current industry issues and the news agenda
  • An events and awards calendar
  • A list of agreed spokespeople and their areas of expertise
  • A bank of content and intel to drive communications
  • Established processes for ways of working
