Content-led support driving growth of a major UK manufacturer

Rumpus works with WEPA UK – one of the leading household paper manufacturers for some of the UK and Irelands’ biggest retailers – delivering all external communication and content for the business in line with the pan-European WEPA Group.

Approach

What we did...

In our role as the retained UK communications team, we have:

  • Implemented a pan-European communications strategy, in line with all territories’ wider PR and social media goals
  • Redesigned the UK website in line with group corporate brand guidelines
  • Revitalised the UK LinkedIn page and overseen its migration to the group page
  • Produced engaging social media content, with a focus on employee and technical awareness and rich imagery
  • Formulated a robust crisis management plan for all aspects of the UK operation
  • Put the crisis plan into action during the coronavirus crisis, managing media enquiries across national and broadcast press

Key results include:

  • Secured high profile national and broadcast coverage on the stockpiling of toilet roll during the COVID-19 pandemic, including a slot on Sky News for WEPA UK’s managing director
  • Positioned WEPA as the go-to commentator on own-label toilet roll manufacturing and sales in trade press, with high profile comments in The Grocer’s Household feature three years in a row
  • Achieved an average of 33,000 monthly impressions for UK-targeted content on the WEPA Group LinkedIn page
  • Drove 56% year-on-year growth (2019/20) for WEPA UK website traffic
