Consumer platform to industry disruptor

Transfer Travel

Thechallenge.

Transfer Travel had already established a presence in consumer travel media when it first launched. Then in 2024, the business expanded its focus, with a priority on strengthening its positioning within the insurance market as a credible technology partner, not just a resale travel platform.

Once that authority was embedded, the brief broadened to increase visibility once again within consumer travel media to drive listings and purchases in an increasingly competitive landscape.

Each phase required a distinct narrative, carefully aligned to different audiences without compromising the brand’s core proposition.

Insightand strategy.

Travel dominates headlines year-round, so simply pitching listings would never be enough. We needed to define what Transfer Travel could genuinely own.

As a resale marketplace, Transfer Travel’s key USPs are affordability and flexibility. The ability to resell travel legally and securely isn’t just a feature, it fundamentally changes how consumers think about commitment and risk when booking. In a cost-conscious climate, where travellers are increasingly cautious about cancellations and rising prices, affordability and flexibility became powerful territory to lead with.

Research we conducted showed public awareness of resale travel platforms was still relatively low. That presented both a challenge and an opportunity. Instead of pushing listings, we focused on education-led storytelling, embedding resale travel into wider conversations about booking behaviours, cost-saving strategies and changing consumer habits.

At the same time, within the insurance market, Transfer Travel’s API technology and digital salvage rights model positioned it as a genuine innovation partner. That required a different tone, one that was more technical and focused on operational efficiency and claims transformation.

The strategy was therefore dual-layered:

  • Authoritative, insight-driven commentary for insurance media
  • Practical, consumer-facing expertise around flexible and affordable travel

Both strands were aligned to driving traffic and awareness, as well as coverage.

Within insurance media, we developed in-depth thought leadership around digital salvage rights, claims innovation and the role of API integration in modernising travel insurance. This secured placements in titles such as Insurance Post, ITIJ and The Insurer, positioning Transfer Travel as a serious technology player.

For consumer media, we built a consistent drumbeat of commentary and data-led stories, inserting Transfer Travel into relevant national conversations. From shoulder-season travel trends to the growth of BNPL bookings and changing cancellation behaviours, we ensured the brand was visible wherever booking risk, value and flexibility were being discussed.

Spokespeople were media trained and properly briefed for every interview, ensuring clarity and confidence across both trade and national outlets.
