Manchester’s largest independent retailer, Housing Units, offers a fantastic range of furnishings for the bedroom, kitchen and living room and they wanted us to drive footfall and in-store purchases. This was in conjunction with proactively engaging customers and potential customers through social media channels.

What we did...

We targeted local press to help drive footfall and national press to drive fame and online orders with a hard-working press office.

Our key campaign periods were the spring new product launches and also the festive season. To amplify these key shopping moments we devised creative social media campaign ideas and hosted in-store events and activities to capture the media’s attention.

We secured TV each year for Santa’s grotto opening and even had a reindeer and Santa on the roof of the store!

One of the key spring campaign highlights included a flash mob and a Cliff Richard tribute act entertaining the crowds as they queued to get into the store.

The buttoned-down team also worked on financial PR stories landing coverage in trade press to announce the results and company successes. On the digital side, the team also acted as customer services and were the first point of contact for customers enquiring via social media.

Additionally, we devised creative campaign ideas for the brand’s social media channels and hosted events and in-store activities. This generated engagement that led to an increase in both footfall and sales. Our digital team was instrumental in driving this, acting as the digital face of the business and the first point of customer contact.
