Fostering as a first choice for good

One of the UK’s largest children’s services providers, Core Assets Group, approached Rumpus to help build the reputation of three of its key businesses – Foster Care Associates (FCA), FCA Scotland and Fostering People – in order to attract foster carers from a range of in-demand backgrounds.

Approach

What we did...

Rumpus operated a full-service press office for Core Assets Group, using various PR tactics to build the group’s reputation and generate all-important enquiries from prospective carers

  • Created a bank of engaging, inspirational case studies of foster carers that were offered to national, trade and regional media titles
  • Distributed corporate news to business media, including appointments and acquisition stories, to showcase the scope of work
  • Ran a reactive media relations campaign, offering regional spokespeople, case studies and experts to broadcast media
  • Supported national and regional fundraising events with targeted press and social media activity

Key results include:

  • Secured 20 inbound back-links from high domain authority websites
  • Achieved 25 pieces of coverage for foster carer case studies in national publications, including Huffington Post, The Sun, The Sunday Times and Able magazine
  • Attained 60 pieces of coverage in top-tier media, including fundraising and CSR stories in regional publications across the UK
  • Secured opportunities for Core Assets Group spokespeople on BBC radio to reach a core demographic, by engaging with key issues on foster care
